Ocean swimming continues to gain in popularity as a fantastic, low cost, health and wellbeing activity for people living on the coast.

The Coalcliff SLSC Ocean Swim Club generously supported by Equilibrium Healthcare is focused on participation rather than competition, and provides adults from the community with the opportunity to practise their ocean swimming skills on a regular basis under the supervision of the Coalcliff SLSC team. It’s also a great way to connect with others in the community in a friendly and supportive environment.

In supporting the Coalcliff Ocean Swim Club, Equilibrium Healthcare aims to promote and contribute to the development of healthy lifestyles in the community. Coalcliff SLSC and Equilibrium Healthcare share this core value of supporting people to participate in healthy activities in the ocean.

​

Coalcliff beach is a small rocky beach with a cliff to the north and rock ledge to the south. The beach has a drop-off and a sometimes powerful shore break. Strong swimming ability is advised.

 

The club swims are scheduled every second Sunday during the season, with a break over the summer holidays. The course will be selected on the day, dependent on the weather and conditions. The plan is to have a number of distances for participants to choose from on the day.

 

Coalcliff SLSC will provide full surf lifesaving support to participants who will all be easily identified by their brightly coloured swim caps provided at the start of the season.

Sundays: 8, 22 October; 5, 19 November; 3, 17 December; 4*, 18** February; 3, 17 March; 7, 21 April.

Fees:

Non-Coalcliff SLSC members: $75 for the season

Coalcliff SLSC members: Free

Anyone wanting to join the ocean swim club will need to read and complete the forms below and become an “Associate Member – Ocean Swim Club’ of Coalcliff SLSC for a very reasonable $75 for the season. All current active members of the Coalcliff surf club can join the ocean swim club free as part of their existing membership.

We’re always looking for new members to join the surf club, and if you’d like to join the club as a new volunteer member please go to the Coalcliff Surf Life Saving Club website, navigate to the membership section and click ‘join’ or email secretary@coalcliffslsc.com.au
